Prestige launches a park home to sing about!

Grand Symphony, the brand new park home launched by Prestige Park & Leisure Homes, is definitely something to sing about.

Prestige’s existing model, Symphony, is a stylish park home, brimming with character. This new home tips its hat to the classic, elegant design of the Symphony whilst leading the way with modern features and added luxury.

Karen and Ricky of the Quick Move Properties part exchange team were lucky enough to be shown round the home by Prestige’s managing director, Silvano Geranio, at the World of Park and Leisure show.

So, what does this park home offer and were Karen and Ricky bowled over by it?

Size – Grand Symphony is 60 x 22ft and is the largest park home ever to be featured in-situ at an exhibition.

Space – the layout of this park home makes the most of its size and creates a spacious yet cosy feel inside. There is a lot of living space and plenty of room for storage.
Splendour – Grand Symphony is finished to a very high standard with feature walls, stylish wallpaper, atmospheric lighting, plush carpets, themed pictures, fine furniture, striking hearths - we could go on and on…

Style – the range of colour schemes and decoration options means that residents can put their own stamp on this park home.

Karen and Ricky were interested in the opinions of other people who viewed the park home at the World of Park and Leisure show. They discovered that the feature that wowed visitors the most was the vaulted ceiling. Grand Symphony is a park home on the outside but more like a lodge on the inside. The high ceilings make it light and airy and add a touch of class.

Other visitors commented on the clean lines of the fitted kitchen and liked the extra light from the skylights in the ceilings. People’s reactions to this park home were very positive and Prestige’s tours caused much excitement.

Karen Burke, Sales and Marketing Manager for Quick Move Properties, was asked to review her tour of Grand Symphony: “The feeling of luxury as you walk into Prestige’s Grand Symphony is great. It is a special park home that offers a brilliant balance between indulgence and comfort. There is just so much space and the wide hallway provides a welcoming entrance to the home. The walk-in wardrobe stood out for me as a glamorous feature.”

Ricky Allen, Sales and Marketing Consultant for Quick Move Properties, was also impressed by the park home: “I am grateful to Silvano for showing us round Grand Symphony – it was a park home tour not to be missed! I think the best features are the separate lounge and the study as they give park home owners so much extra space. The attention to detail employed throughout makes Grand Symphony stand out as an exquisite home to own.”

As always, we tried to give a balanced review to help park home buyers make the right choice for them but we couldn’t think of any points for concern and didn’t have anything negative to say about Grand Symphony!
Conclusion: Grand Symphony is the best park home we’ve ever seen.

Stoneleigh park homes exhibition review

Park home enthusiasts travelled from far and wide to attend the World of Park and Leisure show in Stoneleigh earlier this month and among those in attendance were Karen Burke and Ricky Allen of the Quick Move Properties part exchange team.

Despite the main attraction of the show being Prestige’s Grand Symphony, the largest park home ever to be featured in-situ at an event, the Quick Move Properties stand proved just as popular, becoming a meeting point for vendors and industry experts alike.

This show had a higher footfall than April’s National Parks and Holiday Homes show in Peterborough (including more park home vendors than before) and saw a higher level of part exchange enquiries from park home operators and manufacturers. The overall level of visits to the stand and requests for part exchange at both shows has really demonstrated to us Quick Move Properties’ position as a cornerstone of the industry.

The flow of visits from park home friends was never-ending and there wasn’t a moment spare for Karen and Ricky due to a flurry of introductions by clients eager for colleagues to meet them and keen to discuss new part exchange cases.

The team particularly enjoyed catching up with Silvano Geranio and Mac Oxley of Prestige Park & Leisure Homes, Susan White of Wessex Park & Leisure Homes, Lulu Emersic of Key Parks, Amy Dangerfield and Peter Berwick of Homeseeker Homes and Peter Leary and Dean Westmoreland of Omar Homes, to name only a few.

Most rewarding for Ricky and Karen was the chance to hear feedback on their service first-hand. The main message from park home operators and manufacturers was that they benefit from the hassle-free nature of Quick Move Properties part exchange and enjoy increased sales because of it! Visitors to the stand also commented that most of their buyers have an existing property to sell and so part exchange is invaluable, making a real difference to their sales figures.

It was also brilliant for the team to meet vendors investigating part exchange. Perhaps due to the sunshine, there were more vendors at the show on the Saturday than on the Friday or Sunday. Ricky and Karen were delighted to spend time with them, explaining the process and highlighting how the service can help them buy a park home. They also gleaned some interesting information about the vendors’ situations and house selling attempts within a difficult property market:
  • One vendor was trying to sell his second home in Ipswich in order to buy a park home. Despite employing six different estate agents, he could not find a buyer for the property and approached Quick Move Properties at the show so that he could guarantee a sale.
  • Another vendor owned a large property in Newquay that was surrounded by quarter of an acre of land. After a price reduction of £115,000, he still couldn’t sell the house so he asked the team about part exchange and was excited about the chance to secure a buyer and start enjoying park home life.
  • A third vendor needed to sell her four-bedroom detached house in Wrexham quickly and secure her dream park home. Instead of waiting on the unpredictable open market, she decided to enquire about part exchange and was inspired by the efficient, reliable service available to her.
Karen and Ricky shared some real life success stories with these vendors which gave them a good understanding of part exchange in action. They also had the opportunity to share some of them with media representatives, including Park Lifestyle’s Bella Brodie. One story in particular captured Bella’s interest – so much so, that she featured it on the Park Lifestyle website.

Amidst all these media meetings, advice-giving sessions and part exchange discussions, Karen and Ricky found a little bit of time to accept invites to park home tours. The trip wouldn’t have been complete without taking a look around Prestige’s Grand Symphony and seeing for themselves the park home everyone had been enthusing about all day!

Karen Burke, Sales and Marketing Manager at Quick Move Properties, gave her thoughts on the weekend: “The Stoneleigh show had a real buzz about it - Saturday and Sunday were particularly busy. It was a fantastic opportunity for us to socialise with our park home friends and meet new people too. I find it rewarding to be able to offer a guaranteed part exchange service that benefits so many companies within the park home industry. Following the busy weekend, there was a lot of work to do, including making offers to vendors who had requested part exchange and contacting park home operators and manufacturers who had asked to learn more about the free training and sales material on offer.”

New build home sizes: room for positive thought!

With so much negativity surrounding the issue of new build home sizes, and many articles and petitions criticising builders for not providing enough living space, Quick Move Properties thought it was important to bring some balance to the debate and explore the reasoning behind current property design. What do new home builders say and how are they striving to meet homeowners’ needs?

Some industry voices promote open-minded thinking and champion the new ways of building as innovative and buyer-focused. In May 2012, Steven Lees, Director at Smart New Homes, commented: “House builders want to build homes that are attractive and comfortable places to live and welcome feedback from buyers. Research [by RIBA in it’s ‘The way we live now’ research report] shows that 17% of living space in older properties often goes unused, which translates to £34,000 of a £200,000 house going to waste. New homes are designed to make clever use of space and are intended to serve the needs of homeowners over the long term with rooms and areas that can be adapted depending on need. These include bonus rooms which can be used as quiet study spaces for young professionals or as additional bedrooms for growing families with 70% of buyers saying new homes better reflect their needs.”

With so many demands on new home builders (to build eco-friendly homes, to build large volumes, to include a proportion of social housing, to build quickly in line with the increase in the number of UK households, to build near or create local amenities… the list goes on), it is impossible for them to please all parties at all times – but they work hard to create houses that are fit for modern day life and suitable for as many prospective buyers as possible.

Colin Greenall of Five Star Developments remarked: “For our up and coming development, we researched and have specific target buyers in mind and we work hard to meet their needs.” New home builders across the country carry out in-depth research before designing homes to find out what homeowners want and what sort of homes will suit the location. As a result of the publication of the RIBA report Steven Lees refers to above, new home builders have access to important research that helps them to continue developing convenient modern homes with their buyers’ needs firmly in mind.

Every homeowner has different requirements, different lifestyles and different ideas of what a home should be. Doesn’t this mean we should be championing new home builders who have the tough task of striving to hit Government targets as well as produce new build homes appropriate for a wide range of people with a wide range of interests and needs?

Top ten gadgets for easy living in park homes!

What better way to adopt a laid back lifestyle than living in a park home! On a park, properties are low-maintenance, the atmosphere is relaxed and residents can enjoy an easy life. Quick Move Properties looks into gadgets that park home owners could use to make life even easier, spice up the everyday and increase the opportunity for those ‘put your feet up’ moments.

Just how easy can park home living be?

1.       Remotely controlled under-floor heating

For those chilly evenings in the winter, park home owners could use under-floor heating to keep their parks warm and comfortable but how about going one step further and making life even easier? Under-floor heating that is controlled by a mobile phone app means that you can program the heating while you are out and return to a park home that is already lovely and warm.

2.       Automatic coffee maker

Wouldn’t it be lovely to wake up to the smell of coffee in the morning and have a freshly brewed cup ready for you without having to lift a finger? Having an automatic coffee maker will allow park home owners to make the most of coffee mornings and give more time for leisurely breakfasts, crosswords and reading the daily papers.

3.       Wine cooler

Yes, a mug of hot coffee is just right in the morning but come the evening, if you like to relax with a chilled glass of wine, look no further than a wine cooler for your kitchen. A separate wine cooler could free up space in your fridge while offering wine at the optimum temperature all evening long.

4.       iPod and iPad docking stations

iPod and iPad docking stations built into the wall or free-standing are a modern, handy alternative to larger CD players and stereos. You could have all your music files in one place, save work-top space previously taken up by CDs and other music systems and create playlists to reflect how you feel or motivate you in a particular task.

5.       Integrated sound system

What better accompaniment to music stations than an integrated sound system? You could link up your speakers and listen to your music, whichever room of the park home you are in and control everything using a convenient remote control. Creating a cinema effect in your living room when watching your favourite films has never been easier.

6.       Dressing room camera

Whatever next! You could purchase a camera which takes a photograph of your rear view and projects it on to a screen so that you could check your outfit from all angles before heading out of the park home. No more stretching to try and see what you look like or holding mirrors at awkward angles to make sure your clothes look good.

7.       Easily accessible CCTV

Some people feel safer if they set up a CCTV system to monitor the outside of their homes and enjoy the peace of mind that they are secure. New technology means that park homeowners could set up a CCTV network and view the images from any television in the property.

8.       Slow open blinds

For a relaxing wake-up call, you could ditch the traditional alarm clock that shocks you out of your slumber and invest in top of the range slow open blinds that roll up gradually, allowing sun light to gently wake you.

9.       Secret televisions

The innovation to include television sets in the back of kitchen units and items of household furniture is a great space saver and adds a touch of class to any park home… or if you wanted a wall-mounted set, you could even use artwork to conceal televisions when not in use and make your home individual.

10.   Remote controlled bath tubs

If you are feeling particularly over the top, what about a remote controlled bath? Whether out and about or in the next room, you could set a time, start filling your bath and specify the temperature remotely. What luxury!

Why accept the ordinary when using innovative gadgets could give more time for relaxation!

Check with your park home manufacturer to see which gadgets are available to you and whether they are compatible with your desired park home. It is more cost effective to include gadgets in the design plan and have them installed at time of construction than it is to retrofit them once your park home has been built.

When purchasing a park home, make sure you refer to the Mobile Homes Act 1983.
